Our Story
In late 2018, John Tueart set out to make a documentary feature film of his Dad’s life to surprise him for a big birthday. 13 months, 69 interviews, and 2 continents later, it was unveiled to his Dad and 40 of his closest friends and family.
In Istanbul Airport the morning after City won the treble in June 2023, John and his Dad were telling some family friends about the film. They turned and said ‘John…maybe you should make films for a living’.
A plane journey home, a phone call to Luke, a takeaway curry, and a coffee at HOME MCR, and Imprint Films was born.
At the core of Imprint Films is the message of John’s Dad’s film; the imprint you leave on the world around you, the mark you make on your friends, family, clients, and wider community.
John Tueart
Manchester-born John is an Actor / Filmmaker and Creative Director of Imprint Films. His childhood love of Film and TV never left him even through his first career as an Insurance Lawyer! Since 2016 he’s worked on over 200 sets including opposite stars such as Sarah Lancashire, Suranne Jones, Samuel West and Leo Woodall.
After achieving a distinction in TV and Film Production in 2021, John set out to make his own films, and sensing an opportunity to combine his love of organisation and paperwork with his love of film and storytelling…..Imprint Films was born.
Luke Hearne-Brown
Luke Hearne-Brown our Director of Photography grew up in East Sussex before moving to The University of Salford in 2021. And the rest is history.
A camera in his hands since he was 14, and a specialist in Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, After Effects, Photoshop; Luke has years of experience shooting corporate events and boarding school content.
After meeting John in 2022, Luke is excited to see where Imprint Films can take him, and to exploring the opportunities ahead.
